The final week of February sees a ton of PC strategy games being released (many as download exclusives) lead by the latest game in a long running historical RTS game series:

Napoleon Total War: Developer The Creative Assembly and publisher Sega sends out their latest entry in their acclaimed historical RTS series. As you might guess from the title, it focuses on the late 18th century to early 19th century in Europe centering on the famous (and short) French general. The game will have multiplayer support including co-op campaign gameplay modes.

This is the playable demo for Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943, a World War II themed real-time strategy game.

"Want to find yourself in the very center of Kharkov Defence Operation as an army commander? You'll have everything the officers had back then - tanks, gunnery and fearless soldiers. The success of each opposing force is hanging in the balance every day. Your decisions determine who wins the Battle for Kharkov."

Paradox Interactive is holding their annual Paradox Convention later this week where their developers get together in Sweden along with journalists for a big two day preview of the publisher's upcoming projects. This week the developer has announced they plan to make one big announcement every day. Today that honor goes to a new WWII strategy game called Achtung Panzer Kharkov 1943.

The game will combine both real time and turn-based strategy elements with players able to control either the Soviets or Nazis in six scenarios that portray the real Kharkov Defense Operation in 1943. There are 87 different units in the game from infantry to tanks to airplanes and it also features destructible environments. The game is due for release later in the first quarter of 2010.
