Feature: 2009 console games that should be PC games

On Monday we posted up a feature of all the great 2008 released console only titles that should, in our humble opinion, also be released for the PC. Today we have a sequel to that feature as we go over a number of upcoming 2009 console only games that have yet to officially announce a PC port.

As you can see there are quite a few console-only titles due out in 2009 that would be perfect for PC gamers including perhaps the most obvious choice; Ensemble Studios' last game Halo Wars. Some of our picks are admittedly fanciful but who cares? We still want to play all these games on the PC.

Feature: Our picks for the 10 most anticipated PC games of 2009

In the last days of 2008 we posted up an extensive multi-part preview of many of the games we though might be released for the PC in 2009 (with a few that might not make it until after the year is over). However it's one thing to post up such a preview feature. It's quite another to go through that huge list of games and pick which ones we want to play the most.

That's exactly what we did, though. Out of the over 100 game titles listed in our preview we picked our top 10 titles that we are the most excited to play in 2009. This time we picked games that we are fairly sure will be out by the end of this year although, as usual, delays can and usually do happen. So what are the games we picked and which is number 1 on our list? We are giving away our number 10 pick above.

Feature: 2009 PC Game Predictions

2009 is finally here and with the new year comes resolutions, plans and predictions. 2008 was a busy year for the PC game industry and 2009 looks like it will be equally as busy if not more so.

So what will 2009 bring for us PC gamers? Big Download decided to look into its crystal ball and see what the next 12 months will bring. Some of our predictions are obvious but one or two are admittedly out there. Which ones will come true. Come back in 364 days to find out. You can also check out our sister site WoW Insider for their own predictions about what's coming in World of Warcraft.

2009 (And Beyond) PC Game Preview: Other Games

In the past week we have been going over the many PC games that are due out in 2009. Today we end our preview feature with a look at a number of other games due out next year. These include adventure titles, racing games, sim titles and downloadable games and extra content. We've also added a couple of games that we should have placed in previous installments of this feature. One of the games on this list, The Sims 3, is likely to be one of the biggest selling games, console or PC, in 2009.

If you haven't yet seen our previous installments you can check out the links below. Just a reminder: many of the articles have exclusive new screenshots from many of 2009's upcoming PC game titles:

Now two more popular genres of games, the RPG and the MMO, get the once over for our preview feature and there are some major games due for release in both categories in 2009. Once again we have snagged some exclusive screenshots from a couple of these game titles including one for Sony Online's super hero MMO DC Universe Online.

2009 (And Beyond) PC Game Preview: Strategy-RTS Titles

So far our multi-part overview of the next 12 months in PC games has looked at a ton of action and FPS titles. Now its time for the strategy and RTS genre to get their due. There are a lot of major titles in this category that are (hopefully) coming out in 2009, including one that could be the biggest PC game in terms of sales this year...if it's released this year that is.

Big Download has managed to get some exclusive screenshots to some of the games on our list including the above image from Demigod. And we are not done yet. Check back with us on Tuesday as we go over the many different RPG and MMO titles due out in 2009. (Keep in mind that many games on this list could have their release dates changed).

Yesterday we started our look at the PC games of 2009 with a ton of various upcoming action and FPS titles. But there are so many of these type of games due out in the next 12 months that we had to split that preview up into two parts. This entry not only contains a number of traditional action titles but also has some fighting games and flying action game titles as well.

Check back on Monday as we will next take a look at the various strategy-RTS based games due out in the next year.

2009 (And Beyond) PC Game Preview: Action-FPS Titles Part 1

Christmas is now over and we are now just a few days away from the start of 2009. As with the beginning of any new year there is a feeling of excitement of what the next 365 days will bring. For the PC game industry the new year is already looking very bright with a ton of highly anticipated game titles due to be released in the next 12 months.

Big Download has looked into our crystal ball (ok, it's actually a Bioshock bobble head doll) for all of the games we hope to be playing in 2009. The result is a multi-part preview we will be running in the last days before 2008 is over with that will give you some idea of what to expect. Keep in mind that our preview is not meant to be totally comphensive as there are a number of games our there that have yet to be announced. Also, release dates for games can and do change so many of the titles in our feature might not make 2009 (in fact we have put in some games that we know won't be released this year)

We even have some exclusive new screenshots to some of the games we are featuring in our preview article. One such shot is above from the upcoming Raven Software-id Software-Activision shooter Wolfenstein. For our first part of our 2009 PC game preview we take a look at a number of upcoming action and first person shooter titles. Stay tuned on Saturday as we will preview even more action games in the works.

Update: The second part of our action-FPS preview is now live
