First Men of War Assault Squad paid DLC pack released

While developer Digitalmindsoft has been generous with free content additions (new maps and units) for its recent WWII RTS game Men of War Assault Squad today the developer released its first paid DLC pack for the game via Steam, the MP Supply Pack - Alpha.

This $4.99 pack adds five new multiplayer maps to the game for the Assault Zones and Combat game modes. Each map has its own specific setting. The new maps include the 1v1 map Winter Fields, the 2v2 map Plateau, two 3v3 maps (Crossing and Saipan) and a massive 5v5 map titled Train Crossing. This will likely be the first of many such paid map packs for the game.

Battle Los Angeles PC game listed on 1C Company's Russian web site

Battle Los Angeles as a game still hasn't been officially announced but it seems that the adaptation of the upcoming alien invasion feature film is all but confirmed. The Russian language web site of the publisher 1C Company has a listing for the game, complete with screenshots.

The page says the game will be released on March 11, the same day the film is due in theaters, and also confirms earlier reports that Saber Interactive is developing the title. According to the handy dandy Babel Fish translation of the page, "player will carry out a number of dangerous missions on the front line, which lies along the streets of the half-wrecked megapolis" Hopefully we will learn something about the game's English version sometime soon.

Necrovision's multiplayer servers to shut down in March

If you have been playing or even thought about purchasing the first person shooter Necrovision, you might want to hold off. The game's publisher 1C Company has announced this weekend that the multiplayer support for the game will be shut down on March 15. That's less than two years after the game was released in the US via Aspyr Media.

The horror-themed first person shooter was developed by The Farm 51 and it used a modified version of the graphics engine that was first used in Painkiller. 1C Company has said that Necrovision: Lost Company, a prequel that was released in 2010, will continue to have multiplayer support.
