Men of War: Red Tide available via Steam

Earlier this year we reported that 1C Company's recent WWII RTS game Men of War would be getting a quick stand alone follow up game called Men of War: Red Tide. Late on Friday the game, developed by Best Way, was quietly added to Steam's line-up of games to purchase and download.

As we reported earlier this year when the game was first announced, Men of War: Red Tide has players commanding the he Soviet Marines, also known as the "Black Coats", as they fight battles during the Black Sea Campaigns of WWII. There are 23 missions and over 100 different units to control in the game. The game is priced at $24.99 and a bundle deal combining the new game with the original Men of War can be bought on Steam for just $34.99. That's a $20 savings if each game were bought separately

IL-2 Sturmovik creators working on Battle of Britain game

The Maddox Games development team at 1C Company are best know for their excellent military flight sim games for the PC such as IL-2 Sturmovik. Recently the developer shipped IL-2: Birds of Prey, their first flight sim for current gen consoles. However it looks like they are going back to the PC platform for their next project.

In a chat with IncGames, Maddox Games founder Oleg Maddox revealed that their next game project would be based on the legendary Battle of Britain air war during WWII. Maddox stated the game would use "state-of-the-art technologies to achieve the highest realism possible starting with the visual side and ending up with a real feeling of flight." Their graphics engine is being developed to be scalable so that visuals will improve "coinciding with the improvement of PC performance and capabilities." There's no word yet on when the game will be released.

Elven Legacy to get three mini-expansions this year

Earlier this year we reported that Paradox Interactive was planning to release a downloadable mini-expansion to their fantasy RPG-strategy game Elven Legacy. Now that expansion, Ranger, is being joined by two more mini-expansions. All three are being developed by 1C Company and will be released by the end of the year.

Elven Legacy: Ranger will still be first out of the gate on October 20 and will feature two new heroes, 16 new campaign missions and new artifacts and spells. On November 17 the second mini-expansion, Elven Legacy: Siege, will be released. That will have 19 new missions plus extra unlockable missions, three new heroes and two different armies. Finally the third mini-expansion, Elven Legacy: Magic, is due out on December 1. It will contain 15 new missions plus an additional bonus mission along with new spells and artifacts and the return of some older heroes. All three mini-expansions will be priced at $9.99 each.

Majesty 2 trailers learn to run away

Most players don't need any lessons in fleeing or dying, especially when combating enemies that are way out of their league, but this Majesty 2 gameplay video showcases a number of death sequences for your amusement. Surely, there's something to be learned in this video... somewhere. Oh well, it's still fun to watch fantasy heroes perish or flee while whimpering pathetically like little children. The official Majesty 2 launch trailer can be seen after the jump and the demo can be downloaded here.

Download: Majesty 2 Demo

This is the official playable demo for Majesty 2, the game where players build up and defend a fantasy kingdom. A gameplay trailer showing the game's enemies and how to fight them can be seen after the jump along with the system requirements. Majesty 2 is set to release on September 18th.
"In the world of Majesty, you are the ruler of the kingdom Ardania. At your service are your loyal and somewhat obnoxious subordinates, who have their own minds about how things should be done. In fact, Majesty is the only game where your heroes decide on their own what should be done and when, leaving you to try to control them through monetary incentives."

NecroVisioN: Lost Company trailer has a new point of view, but still uses plenty of firepower

The recently announced NecroVisioN: Lost Company covers events that take place before the original NecroVisioN (released earlier this year) begins, using an old school "shoot everything that moves with big guns" horror FPS style. However, in this prequel, players will jump into the completely new role of a WWI German soldier who finds himself caught up in a war between demons and zombies, eventually leading a war against them himself.

Lost Company isn't expected to release until the early half of 2010, but the demo for the original NecroVisioN can be downloaded here.

NecroVision: Lost Company announced

1C Company continues to release continuations of their many different game franchises. The latest such release is NecroVision: Lost Company, a prequel to this year's supernatural-themed WWI shooter from developer The Farm 51. The prequel has the player control one of the German soldiers who fights the supernatural evil only to become the Necromancer that the player had to defeat in the original game.

Look for 10 new single player levels in the game along with six new weapons, new weapon upgrades, and new drivable vehicles like the FT17 tank and Halberstadt CL.II airplane. There's also a new multiplayer mode: Gas Attack (and we hope it's not what we are thinking about right now) and some improved visual effects and graphics upgrades. Look for the game to come out in the first quarter of 2010.

The demo for the 1C Company-developed game will be released on September 15 around am PT (noon ET). There's no word yet on what kind of content will be contained in the demo release. The full version of Majesty 2 is scheduled to be released just three days later on September 18.

Majesty 2 video shows off its vast kingdom

This video for Majesty 2 showcases some of the gameplay involved in putting together a powerful fantasy empire. Building a kingdom requires plenty of resources, virtual peasant power, a standing army to fight off nasty things like dragons... and apparently a lot of scrolling. There's no narration in this gameplay video, so viewers are left to figure out what's going on. Majesty 2 is schedule to release this fall.
