X-Wing
In case you haven't noticed yet, LucasArts was a powerful force (no pun intended) in PC gaming during the 90's. However, it wasn't limited to adventure games. Star Wars: X-Wing released in 1993, the first in a long line of space combat-sim titles set in George Lucas's universe.
Taking the Star Wars mythos to heart, the game's full 3D graphics and its compelling mission-based gameplay sucked players in and never let go.
LucasArts continued to release similar games (TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance) but since the last game was released in 1999 the publisher has not revisited its once successful franchise.
