Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle
Another LucasArts adventure game? Sure, why not? When the game we are talking about is Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle. As a(sort of) sequel to the 1987 original, this 1993 title has players on a quest to protect time itself.
The Purple Tentacle is out to change history for his plan to dominate the world. Using three playable characters, the protagonists have to stop the evil Tentacle from making his plans come to light. In the process they travel through time using high-tech port-o-potties to solve puzzles.
Tim Schafer co-directed of Day of the Tentacle and really his sense of style is really exemplified with this game. After working on several other LucasArts titles, Schafer left to form Double Fine, the creators of the cult classic Psychonauts and the upcoming console title Brutal Legend.
