Digital Illusions sought to create a first-person action game that about movement, melee combat and style, instead of just running and gunning. The unique concept, combined with the gorgeous art, wowed audiences with its previews.

The game released in 2009 for the PC, but it had already fallen flat before that when it hit consoles a few months earlier. As it turned out, too much exposure to the pure while surrounded made things dull, and the gameplay wasn't nearly as good as people hoped. Being an unarmed messenger with only a vague understanding of the cause you represented, dodging soldiers with shotguns and sniper rifles, turned out to be too much of a challenge for many. Additionally, the first-person perspective guaranteed that you would spend most of your time staring at blank walls. Publisher Electronic Arts is considering a sequel, but it will have to be a lot better than the original to interest us. 21/12/09
