The College Try: Failed PC Ports Of Console Games

Lost Planet

Yep, it's another Capcom game. The original Xbox 360 version of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition was a solid sci-fi shooter and Capcom decided to charge in with DirectX10 support for its PC version a few months later. In 2008 Capcom released Lost Planet Colonies for both Xbox 360 and PC platforms, adding mostly new multiplayer maps and modes.

Yet it's the Xbox 360 version that seems to get most of the attention. Perhaps its because the PC version requires a high powered rig to really show off its DirectX10/Vista effect which again leave all those XP owners out in the cold. Whatever the reason, Lost Planet will most likely be thought of as a console game first and a PC game second.
