The College Try: Failed PC Ports Of Console Games

Guitar Hero III
The game franchise that jump started the whole music game genre finally reached the PC platform in 2007 when Aspyr released a PC port of Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The music game did huge business on the console versions but for some reason the PC version never made it to the top of the best seller charts.
Why? Could it be that the game was so tied into playing with friends in front of a TV screen that having a PC version just didn't have that social connection? We are guessing that might have been the problem. In any case, if someone can figure out how to make a Guitar Hero game have that same party game feel on the PC it will likely do very well indeed.
