The College Try: Failed PC Ports Of Console Games

While it didn't get perfect reviews, BioWare's 2005 released action-RPG still got solid sales in its original Xbox version. Yet for some reason it took nearly two years for BioWare to come up with a PC port of the game. Microsoft, the publisher of the original Xbox version, passed on the PC port so 2K Games released it in early 2007.

The PC version did contain some new content (monsters, fighting styles, a new difficulty level) and improved graphics. Yet the nearly two year wait for the PC port most likely affected sales of the game. BioWare learned its lesson for its next game, Mass Effect, and got the PC port out only a few months after the original PC game.
