This platform arcade game might have made our list just for the fun gameplay. But it's also memorable because it was also one of the first titles from Epic Games, then known as Epic MegaGames. Released as a shareware title in 1994, it remains a cult favorite.
The success led to a sequel, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, but more importantly started the company on its way to becoming one of the biggest game developers in the world. It went on to launch the Unreal series and the Unreal engine which is now used by a ton other developers for their own games.
Even with their success with the Unreal franchise (and later Gears of War) many people would still love to see a new Jazz Jackrabbit title. In fact, many third parties have created mod tools for the game to extend their experience. 22/04/09
