Coming off the successful release of Return to Castle Wolfenstein in 2002, Gray Matter Studios went right into their next game. It was planned to be an original near-future first person shooter called Trinity which had the player use both weapons and augmented abilities while fighting enemies in New Orleans

Trinity was announced in the spring of 2003 and was shown at E3 that May but just a few months later Activision decided to pull the plug on the game. The reasons for the move were never publicly released. Gray Matter Studios was closed down by Activision a couple of years later with its team merged with another Activision studio, Treyarch. 06/10/08
