Wildstorm began its current trend of picking up game properties for comic books with Blizzard's hit MMO game. The first issue of an ongoing series was first released in 2007 and high sales have continues for the series ever since.
The series has been written by well known comic book creator Walt Simonson as it tells stories inside Blizzard's game world. In 2008, Wildstorm released a mini-series called World of Warcraft: Ashbringer that served as a prequel to the events of the game's second expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King. Wildstorm has announced plans to release a second World of Warcraft series later this year. 10/02/09
