Originally planned as a paid expansion pack for Return to Castle Wolfenstein, developer Splash Damage got a chance to do something unique; release a stand alone multiplayer game completely for free.
Released in 2005, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was a big hit with gamers. Not only was the game free to download and play but it was actually fun to play with objectives, unique levels and more. It remains highly popular online 09/12/08
