X-COM Apocalypse was a radically different game from its predecessors, both in theme and scope. While it appeared to get smaller, it actually got much more detailed. The side-effect of this is that it was not as well-received when it came out as X-COM was. It was a departure from the formula, and one that needed to be made in order to push the series forward. 08/12/09
