Uprising, when it was released, didn't make that much of a splash. It received a fair amount of critical acclaim and enough sales to warrant at least one sequel. But it never really caught on. Ask a retro gamer which game they think is the first hybrid of first-person shooter and real-time strategy, and they will most likely answer with Battlezone. While Battlezone is a fantastic game on its own, the merits of Uprising should definitely not be overlooked. That was exactly what happened when it was released, which undermines just how good Uprising is. 26/10/09
