Tropico was completely unlike anything when it first came out. It was something of a cross between Railroad Tycoon and SimIsle, with a little mix of The Sims mixed into the mess. It was a full-blown simulation, covering all aspects of life in a time parcel of land. This is what made it more notable than its peers, and while its received 2 sequels, nothing will quite exceed the original. 26/01/10
