Starcraft was a game with humble origins. Simply put, it was to be Warcraft in space. In a way, it followed it's inspiration, Warhammer (which had an extremely space-based popular spin-off, Warhammer 40,000) almost to the letter. However, Starcraft is more than just a Warcraft spin-off. It managed to take the RTS community by storm, becoming the defacto game to compare other RTS games to. The expansion, released a year later, expanded the story and unit list greatly. 20/04/09
