Sacrifice is hardly the first game to blend real-time strategy with other genres. The acclaimed Battlezone series preceded it, and combined real-time strategy with first-person shooters. The game Uprising did so as well. Games like Balur's Gate blurred the line between strategy and role-playing. Sacrifice, however, put you right down in the action, made you moveable much like an FPS, and gave both you and your units statistics, spells, and such. It's the unholy child of strategy, shooters, and role-playing, and we wouldn't have it any other way. 14/09/09
