Quake 3 was released at a time when online multiplayer was starting to gain some serious traction. Suddenly, everybody and their grandmother wanted to be able to frag each other through a LAN or through the internet. Along with Unreal Tournament, which was released around the same time, Quake 3 is considered one of the best multiplayer FPS experiences to be had. It's frantic, feathery, and fun, and the quickness of play lets players get right back into the action. 17/08/09
