MAX did not turn many, or any, heads upon release. Despite its beautiful graphics and unique gameplay, it was perhaps a little too complex for gamers of the day. It also did not help that it was a pure strategy game from Interplay, which was primarily known for its role-playing games. Still, it's held up surprisingly well over the years, and although it wasn't a massive success, it did well enough to warrant a sequel. 12/04/10
