Resident Evil 5 has all the elements a great multiplayer game needs: Zombies, giant monsters, plenty of guns and a campaign that's designed from the ground up for players to work together. There's also a time-based challenge mode for players who have finished running through the story. Unfortunately, this game only supports two players and has a few gameplay quirks like having to stand still in order to shoot. Multiplayer requires an online connection and both players must be logged into Games for Windows Live, since there are no offline LAN options. Still, this is an excellent action game for small gatherings.
