Amnesia is easily the scariest game we have ever played. Aliens vs Predators? Silent Hill? Those games are for wimps. It follows the protagonist Daniel as he explores a castle, driven onward to forget the horrible things he has witnessed and forgotten thanks to an amnesiac. The gameplay is a combination of stealth mechanics and physics puzzle solving, and strikes an excellent balance between difficulty and approachability. It is scary without being startling, and atmospheric without being cheesy. In short, it is the perfect horror game.
