10 Reasons to Avoid Spore

No lasting impact

For a game based heavily on evolutionary theory, Spore barely scratches the surface. Nothing the player does have any lasting impact on the world around them. Driving a species to extinction doesn't do anything to the ecosystem. There are no rainy or dry seasons to impact food supplies. No way to domesticate animals to help hunt or farm. There aren't any implications to having a strictly carnivorous species take over a planet where, one would expect, there's a limited amount of meat to consume. Spore invites people to experiment and try out different things, but it's so limited that there's not much to experiment with. Incidentally, constantly eating does not lead to obese creatures.
