26. World of Goo (1 of 26)
This wildly creative puzzle game came out in 2008, created by two former EA team members who decided to form their own indie company, 2D Boy. World of Goo embodies all the elements of a near perfect game. It has unique and challenging gameplay, where players use living elastic goo balls to build structures and solve puzzles. There's wonderfully whimsical music, a bright and quirky art style, and a fantastic sense of humor. All taken together, this is exactly the kind of game that keeps gamers glued to their chairs, wracking their brains, and looking forward to the next puzzle. Beyond that, the game is a shining achievement in creativity and shows what can be done with limited resources.
