One year ago, the one-man game development team at Eric Ruth Games released Pixel Force Left 4 Dead, a free reimagined version of Valve's zombie shooter if it had been made in the 1980's as an 8-bit console game. Now the developer has released yet another free game reimagining and this time its based on Bungie's Halo shooter series.

Pixel Force Halo takes the epic sci-fi story of the first person shooter series and turns it into an 8-bit side scroller game with some isometric Warthog driving action thrown in for good measure. You can check out some footage from the game after the jump:
