Minecraft development team may have sold its 1 millionth copy of the hit indie sandbox game on Wednesday but even with all that money coming in the team has found some time to post up a new beta update to the title. The 1.2 beta patch, which can be downloaded via the game's auto-updater, has been released.
The blog post of Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Perrson has the patch notes which include the addition of note blocks (yes, blocks that can apparently be played). There's also a new water dwelling mob, some new tree types, new crafting recipes and even a couple of secret blocks (one useful and one that's "pretty"). Plus there's cake (insert Portal joke here).
