THQ exec hints at using Games For Windows Live for PC again
Bilson also talked about how important the PC platform is for THQ, stating, "You're going to see us putting out almost every, single console title we can on PC to expand our audience and expand the customer base, ultimately."

I was about the scream "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"
but then I realized that the stated alternative would be Steamworks, GFWL may well be a pile of shit for online games but it's way less intrusive than steam will ever be on it's best of days.
I can't decide what is worse.Posted at 4:38AM on Nov 4th 2010 by Fakeassname
"I really, really, really like Microsoft as a partner."

I think GfWL still deserves a chance to grow and improve and the more developers that are using it, the more incentive MS has to better the service.

The issues comes back around to not whether MS deserves a chance to grow GfWL, but whether if they can grow the service, or if they even want to. We've all seen just how much money MS put into launching Kinect, I doubt MS will even put a fraction of that amount of money into GfWL.Posted at 12:33PM on Nov 4th 2010 by Unknown
GFWL never bothered me. I don't even have to use it if I don't want to. I like the achievements. When I buy a game I can still sell/trade/give away a game that I am finished with.
Steam is a virus. It inundates you with adds, Installs nagwere at startup, digital copies of games are worthless if you only intend to play the game once. Prices are generally higher than retail (hence the countless "sales" they have). Purchased games have no secondary value and cannot even be given away to friends. It's on macs (c'mon what more proof do you need that its evil).
I was planning to buy fallout new vegas but I read the back of the package and "free registration with steam is required". I was devistated. Sorry Bethesda but I'm not paying for a worthless product. What a shame as I played Fallout 3 3 times and purchased all the DLCs (at retail). I will be unable to enjoy your game due to my personal boycott of steam.
Glad to hear that THQ is not treating PC Gamers like ignorant sheep.
Anything is better than steam.. Go GFWL!
P.S. - recent chatter about a trade in system on steam had my interest for about 5 minutes. what a shame they later denied it. If that were to happen I MIGHT consider using steam.
Wow what a rant... sorry guys..Posted at 11:53PM on Nov 5th 2010 by Ashrak007
@Ashrak007
Call me whenever you can't save in a GFWL game because your PC is detected as offline for whatever reason. Most of us sane PC users have it to where after we register the game, we replace the dll file, allowing us to play in peace. To me, Steam is much less obtrusive versus GFWL, but then again you are entitled to your opinion.Posted at 6:57PM on Nov 7th 2010 by mohara5604
Mohara, I hope you know that you can still save while offline. In fact, you can even load. I know right!!! It is amazing. Oh, and it has always been that fucking way.
The problem people run into is when they try to load a save on a different profile. Saves, and configurations, are profile based. Posted at 10:48PM on Nov 12th 2010 by LoganN

the way i see is it that microsoft had its chance and now they are regretting it and starting to do something about it, but i think its too late.Posted at 12:44AM on Nov 4th 2010 by perestroika
