Minecraft player creates an in-game 16-bit computer

Do you remember that episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation where the hologram version of Professor Moriarity created a holodeck inside the holodeck? That's what we though about when we learned that a player of the popular indie sandbox game Minecraft decided to create a computer in the game that really works.

The above YouTube video has "theinternetftw" , the creator of the 16-bit computer, describing how this contraption was made inside Minecraft and what it can do. It''s on the verge of John Carmack techno-speak so be prepared for a lot of stuff that will likely go over your head. Still it's pretty impressive and shows just what is really possible in this indie game made with a fraction of the price of StarCraft II.
