Half-Life 2 Deathmatch gets engine and Mac update

In an interesting move, Valve has made a surprise update to its stand alone multiplayer shooter Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. The game, which uses weapons and content from Half-Life 2' single player campaign, now has a native Mac OS version. As with all previous Mac ports of Valve games, it is cross-platform compatible with the PC version. The $4.99 Mac port is also free if you already own the PC version.

In addition, the game's official message boards report from players that the new version uses the latest version of the Source engine as well as updated character models from Half-Life 2 Episode 2.
