It looks like earlier revealed plans to get the demo for Civilization V out before the full game's release have fallen by the wayside. In an update on the game's official web site. it was announced that the demo for Firaxis Games' latest turn-based strategy game will be released on September 21, the same date the full retail version will be made available in stores and via online download.

There was no specific reason given for the demo's delay, with the site saying only, " ... we weren't able to finalize it in the timeframe we had initially planned, and for that we're very sorry." There's still no word on what the demo will contain in terms of its content.
