It's sometime hard to find out how many players are registered to play a particular MMO title as some developers and publishers keep that info close to the vest. However, in an apparent attempt to gain more interest in the sale of failed developer Realtime Worlds, the administrator for the company has announced that its first person shooter MMO All Points Bulletin has signed up 130,000 registered players since the game launched in late June.
According to the administrator Begbies Traynor's press release, each player in the game has spent an average of $28 per month since APB's launch via purchasing game time and also with a trading of various in-game items. The press release claims, "These are healthy numbers and reflect positively on APB as a ongoing concern." Realtime Worlds entered into administration (the UK's term for bankruptcy) last week and laid off the vast majority of its workers. A small team is still updating and servicing APB while the administrator looks for a company to purchase Realtime Worlds' assets.
