Yep, there's even more EverQuest-related news to report from Sony Online's Fan Faire even in Las Vegas this weekend. The company officially announced plans to release EverQuest II: Destiny of Velious. This will be the 10th expansion pack (including the adventure packs) for the fantasy MMO sequel that first launched in 2004.

EQ2Wire has some of the details of the expansion which will launch in February 2011. In addition to raising the level cap and adding over 300 new quests, the expansion will give players a chance to gain access to flying mounts for the first time. There's no word yet on when beta testing for the expansion will begin. As we reported last month, Sony Online plans to launch EverQuest II Extended, a free-to-play but separate version of Everquest II. The beta for EverQuest II Extended is scheduled to begin later this month.
