Revealed last month, Codemasters has now issued the official press release announcing Operation Flashpoint: Red River, the upcoming third game in the military shooter franchise. This game is supposedly being build around four-player co-op gameplay although it will still have a single player mode.
Set in the country of Tajikistan, the game centers on a group of US Marines that will deal with a threat from the Chinese PLA. The game will feature three "acts" that can be played in single player or in "drop in-drop out" co-op play. Look for improved AI, a better inventory system, player class roles, XP unlocks and more. The game is due out in 2011. By the way the image you see above is not an in-game screenshot but merely a "target visual" that Codemasters wants to reach for the game.

These simulator FPS games have got to stop making up fake countries that end with "stan". That shit's getting old at this point.Posted at 12:59PM on Aug 6th 2010 by HissingNewt

Off course I will not buy any Operation Flashpoint titles anymore.
I do not want to buy a title that the developer disable support only eight months after the release....
