Activision Blizzard reports its latest financial results

Activision Blizzard is the latest publisher to offer up its financial results, this time for the quarter that ended on June 30. In that time period the company brought in $967 million in revenue, slightly down compared to $1.04 billion for the same period a year ago. Activision released three PC games in that quarter: the racing game Blur, the action game Transformers War For Cybertron and the FPS Singularity.

In terms of profit, the company generated $219 million of it in the last quarter, up from $195 million in profits from the same period a year ago. While many of Activision Blizzard's new games last quarter did not meet sales expectations the company said sales "fueled by continued strong consumer response" to its Call of Duty games as well as World of Warcraft helped the sales figures.
