Suicide Squad game announced

It looks like Warner Bros. Interactive is serious about getting new DC Comics-based games out to gamers (both the game publisher and the comic book publisher are owned by parent company Time Warner). As reported on our sister site Comics Alliance, DC Comics' chief creative officer Geoff Johns announced during a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con that a game based on DC's Suicide Squad team is in the works.

For those of you who are not comic book fanboys or fangirls, the Suicide Squad is a team of super villains who are captured by the government and forced to go on secret missions in a super villain version of The Dirty Dozen with a little Mission Impossible thrown in. There's no info on the game's developer, platforms or a release date but Johns did say the game will be "hardcore violent."
