As they always do every Friday, Valve has a new update for its zombie co-op shooter sequel Left 4 Dead 2 that adds a new Mutation gameplay mode that lasts for one week only. This week the mutation is called Healthpackalypse!. Yes, that means that in playing this mode there are no helpful health packs to pick up and use on yourself and your three other survivors. Better stock up on pills and adrenaline shots.

Next week's mutation mode is a player's choice week as they can vote via the game's in-game blog on which of the past four mutations (Versus Survival, Four Swordsmen of the Apocalypse, Hard Eight and Healthpackalypse) they want to play again. Also Valve plans to release some updates to the game's Versus mode in the coming week.
