Analyst: StarCraft II will sell 7 million copies in publisher's fiscal year

With less than four days to go before StarCraft II's release, another financial analyst has predicted just how many copies will be sold of Blizzard's sci-fi RTS sequel. IndustryGamers reports that Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey is predicting that the game will sell 7 million copies during the current fiscal year of the game's publisher Activision Blizzard (which ends on March 31, 2011).

Revenue from the game could go over $350 million for the fiscal year, according to Hickey, with profits for Activision Blizzard reaching $171 million. He also predicts that 70 percent of StarCraft II's sales will be made in the current quarter that ends on September 30. 2.5 million copies will be sold in the US and Europe. In South Korea, where the game will be available via digital download, Hickey predicts revenues of $225 million from that country via both game sales and revenues from cyber cafes.
