With the second and final phase of multiplayer beta testing for StarCraft II now underway, developer Blizzard continues to flesh out the back story for its sci-fi RTS sequel. The game's official web site has posted up a new page which goes into detail on one of the game's big single player aspects, the Hyperion space ship.

Begin on board the Hyperion will give the player lots of options for missions during the single player campaign. You can visit the ship Amory to get a number of upgrades for your units such as combat shields for marines that increase their health. You can also visit the cantina to purchase the use of mercenary units and the laboratory will be used for upgrades for structures. Players will be able to visit the Hyperion themselves when the full game is released on July 27.
