Sega West president: No Alpha Protocol sequel

Last month saw the long overdue release of Alpha Protocol, the super-spy themed RPG from developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Sega. The reviews for the game were mixed but apparently it was the game's sales that has cause Sega to officially nix any plans for a sequel to the game.

Computer and Video Games quotes Sega West president Mike Hayes as saying, "Let's speak very commercially; the game hasn't sold what we've expected, therefore we won't be doing a sequel," Obsidian is still saying busy; it has Fallout: New Vegas to finish up for its release in October and Dungeon Siege III is due in 2011. The developer is also working on the planned RPG game based on The Wheel of Time novels.

I wanted to play this, regardless of good/bad reviews based on the plot line. But heard the game was super buggy and super late, not going to give my money to buggy games.Posted at 11:43AM on Jul 6th 2010 by TB
