Games For Windows Live service and tools for its massive rival
Steamworks. PC Gamer reports that the upcoming third person shooter
Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days will be using Valve's PC tools when it comes out in August. The original Kane and Lynch used Games For Windows Live for things like achievements and auto-updating
This is the second time a major PC game title or port has switched from Games For Windows Live to Steamworks for its second installment.
Bethesda Softworks announced earlier this year that
Fallout: New Vegas would use Steamworks after using Games For Windows Live for
Fallout 3.
Microsoft might also want to consider fixing the auto-patching in GFW Live. I bought Red Faction Guerilla at retail and it would crash whenever I tried to patch it through GFW.
