The multiplayer beta is shut down, at least for the moment, and now its time for Blizzard to let a mass audience know that after 12 years, there's another StarCraft game coming down the tracks. The publisher used the fourth game of the NBA Finals on Thursday night to debut their first TV commercial for the long awaited RTS game sequel StarCraft II.

Blizzard choose to show only footage from the game's pre-rendered CGI trailers rather than actual gameplay for their first mass market marketing push for StarCraft II, Thus many folks who had never heard of StarCraft were most likely wondering what kind of game this footage is based on. Hopefully Blizzard will show, you know, the actual game when it makes its next TV spot.
