It was officially announced just a few months ago but today publisher 2K Games announced that the Firaxis Games-developed title Sid Meier's Civilization V is now officially set for release on September 21 in the US. Folks in the rest of the world will wait three extra days before the game is released on September 24.

As if by coincidence (yeah right) the game's official web site has just gotten a relaunch with more info about the latest game in the turn-based strategy series. The site includes the first episode of the official Civilization V podcast, the reveal of some of the new civilizations that will be in the game and more.
