We've been waiting to get our first glimpse of the next game in the Red Faction series and we got it earlier today with the first trailer for Red Faction: Armageddon. The game is the fourth in the series of sci-fi shooter titles from developer Volition and publisher THQ and it's due out in March 2011. The official Red Faction web site has already switched over to Armageddon mode with the first screenshots from the game now on display

From what we can see in both the trailer and the story description, the game takes us back underground on Mars similar to the first game in the series. In fact will apparently be playing the grandson of the main character in the first Red Faction game. This time, however, you won't be fighting off a human totalitarian threat but one that's alien in origin. You can check out the trailer after the jump.
