New Steam UI and web site go live

As promised last week, Valve has flipped its big switch and made its new user interface for its Steam PC download service live for everyone. The new version of the service has been in open beta testing for the past couple of months. The new version of the client software also comes with a redesign of the official Steam web site that reflects the changes made in the downloadable software program.

It's likely that the launch of the Mac version of Steam isn't too far behind. The Mac port was first announced last month and entered beta testing late in March. Valve said the Mac port would be officially released in April and they still have a few more days before that deadline is broken.
