Would you pay $25 for a World of Warcraft in-game mount?

Blizzard's hit MMO World of Warcraft doesn't get all of its revenue from its monthly subscription fee. It also sells a limited number of in-game pets for player characters on the Blizzard online store. Today the store got a couple of new additions including the Celestial Steed, an in-game mount that can be used by all current and future characters on one game account.

And the price for such a splendid mount? Brace yourself. It's a whopping $25. That's a ton of money for an official in-game mount. You could buy a good downloadable full game for less than that amount (more than one if the games are on sale). Our sister site WoW.com is running a poll asking if they feel selling the Celestial Steed is a good idea. As of this writing the people who think its "Okay" are leading but not by much. What is true is that Blizzard is selling a lot of them. A commenter on WoW.com's news posts states, "I'm currently # 30,000 in the queue to buy one. That's $750,000 in the first HOUR of sales." Wow, indeed, for WoW.
