Report: Activision Blizzard makes changes; lays off 15 workers

Things are a'changing over at Activision Blizzard, at least according to a new report at the Los Angeles Times web site. Based on an internal memo, the massive publisher is dividing into four different units. Blizzard Entertainment, which has always operated separately from the rest of the company, is one of the four divisions. Another will concentrate on the mega-popular Call of Duty franchise. The third will work on Activision's own original game properties while the fourth will work on licensed game properties.

But unfortunately this new corporate structure has apparently come at a cost. The story says an Activision spokesperson stated that 15 team members were laid off last week. It's not mentioned where the layoffs occurred in the company.
