Its release date has been pushed back a number of times since it was first announced but today publisher 2K Games revealed it has finally setted on a specific release date for Mafia 2. The historical open world crime action game from developer 2K Czech will ship to its fans on August 24.
If you happen to be holding tickets to attend the sold out PAX East event this weekend you will be able to play a preview version of Mafia 2 at the 2K Games booth. It will be the first time the general public will be able to play a build of the game.

I fear this game won't live up to the hype that once surrounded it. All the delay's killed this game's potential, and now it just looks dated, even more so by August. AFAIK.. this is Dx9 only. This game will end up being hacked more than bought. Even then its still not interesting. This just seems like a last ditch effort to make some money off the game before its cancelled. Its just To Little To Late.Posted at 1:26PM on Mar 25th 2010 by pcgamer
