Left 4 Dead 2 The Passing news - Major Spoiler Alert!

There's going to be something kind of big coming up in the next Left 4 Dead 2 mini-expansion The Passing, due out in the near future. GameTrailers TV revealed the info earlier this morning about the Valve created expansion where the Left 4 Dead 2 cast meets up with the four folks from the original zombie co-op shooter.

It's so major, in fact, that we feel that we need a BIG SPOILER ALERT so as to not ruin things for people who want to play the expansion cold. So if you want to find out about the big plot development read after the jump. If you don't STOP RIGHT NOW!

Everyone that wants to be here ready? Ok then. Again as revealed by GameTrailers TV, the previously unannounced tagline for The Passing is "Nobody Survives Forever" That refers to the fact that the Left 4 Dead 2 cast only interacts with THREE members of the Left 4 Dead 1 group in the expansion. Yep, that means a major cast member of the original game is ALREADY DEAD when The Passing starts.

But that's not all. Valve has already announced that there will also be a new Left 4 Dead 1 mini-expansion that will come out later this year. That expansion will actually tell the story on how that character (who has not yet been revealed) dies before The Passing begins.That means if you play that expansion with three of your buddies the person who controls that particular character will have to sacrifice him or herself. Interesting.

I won't be Zoey, I'm almost positive of that. I think it'll be Francis personally, they know Louis is a fan favorite so I doubt they'd kill him off. Then again I remember them releasing the info that Louis statistically usually dies first in most games.Posted at 3:13PM on Mar 20th 2010 by Alex

Are you kidding me?! Francis is probably the most popular L4D character because of his "I hate" speeches. I think it'll be Bill. He'll somehow be in a position where he'll have to sacrifice himself, and since he's the old guy who has nothing to live for, he'll throw probably end up having to distract a Tank so that the others can escape, or something of that nature.Posted at 12:53AM on Mar 22nd 2010 by Robert

Louis a fan favorite??! Has no one noticed that if you DON'T play as him he is always disturbing witches and wot-not?

I think it will be him myself. Francis is popular for his 'I Hate' speeches, Zoey has been mentiond as a possible love interest for Ellis and Bill is the leader of the pack....

It's probably going to be Bill. He's the classic "old war vet" character, so he's the most likely (story-wise) to sacrifice himself and go down kicking. Perhaps to "relive the glory days".Posted at 6:19PM on Mar 22nd 2010 by Gorbi

I thought it would be Francis for sure simply because Bill is the most obvious choice. Valve likes to throw us for a loop sometimes and Bill is the old dude, he'd die to save the rest. But that is expected. Not so much with Francis. Zoey is the girl, only two of them in the games so she won't get killed, Lois is the only minority in the first game (aside from Zoey) and he seems to be almost as popular as Francis so we're keeping him. Thus I've been thinking my favorite guy Francis will bit the bullet. But if Valve is saying Francis and Nick will be having some interaction, then that changes thing and I would say it's Bill. Well I was so excited when I herd about this but now after hearing that one of the original survivors dies I got a little sad and mad because I think that the original survivors make the game I see leadership in bill not coach. I see fights coming from Francis not Nick. I see Zoey as being a "distraction" not Rochelle. And I see Louis as being the random one. I mean who else enjoys pills as much as him. NOT ELLIS! first of all, #11 (Sinjin) should chill out. people r on this 2 give out their own opinions without people like u mocking them. anyway,i think that most of u guys r correct in saying that it will b Bill. the old veteran who has run out of wars to fight and nothing else 2 live 4. he'll end up killing himself 2 save the others and helping them 2 escape, like a real hero would. this DLC should b interesting indeed...Posted at 6:02PM on Apr 5th 2010 by Ted

It will be Louis.
- Zoey could have good interraction with other guys and 2 girls instead of one !
- Bill will become a natural leader of the unified group so !
- Francis is the eternal zombie movie character (coming from jail..)

- Louis, sorry but without any bad word or mind (don't worry !), there are already 2 black people in the story (coach and rochelle) and versus this 2, Louis got less charism and interresting story for the futur.
