Battlefield Bad Company 2 has more PC players than Xbox 360 and PS3
That's pretty good considering that the PC gamer population is supposing to be dying off and moving to the consoles. However there's been some server issues that have cropped up since the game's release earlier this week that the dev team is trying to fix. All in all, Battlefield Bad Company 2 seems to be a big hit, with a blog post stating, " . . . concurrent users in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 surpassed that in Battlefield 2 which has been going strong for almost 5 years."

"Now we think they are regreting that decision..."
Before we call a win for the PC, I'd like to know how many of those PC players stole the game. If the number is too high (ala Demigod numbers), then Digital Illusions will be regretting a decision--the decision to port BC2 to PC.Posted at 1:45PM on Mar 7th 2010 by DSDan
Der you can't play Bad Company 2 online unless you have bought the game and get a valid serial key.So ALL of the people playing online for pc have bought the game. It's not like Borderlands with no main server, meaning lots of people are playing online without having bought the game. All Battlefield games have to go through EA's main server, and you can't get through it without having a valid serial key.So stfu and go back to playing xbox or whatever.Piracy has been blown out of proportion anyways.Do you really think developers keep making pc games, whether specifically for pc or ports, just to lose money?PC gaming is still alive and well, and there is still profit to be made from it.Posted at 3:32PM on Mar 7th 2010 by @DSDan
If you're considering purchasing Battlefield: Bad Company 2....DON'T DO IT!!!! I've spent as much time trying to get into a game as I have actually playing. To add to that; when I do get into a game, I often get booted and lose all of my kills/achievements/ etc. I've been a loyal customer to the Battlefield brand and even pre-ordered BC2. What a huge waste of $60. Modern Warefare has never given me this kind of issue. I just can't believe that they weren't prepared for this. I can understand if they have server problems here and there.........but come on....this is beyond ridiculous. Be warned!!! and warn everyone you know.( I'm posting this exact same warning everywhere I can.) Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the ultimate excercise in futility!!!!! This is strange, because last UK sales chart saiz that xbox has 56%, PS3 31% and PC 16%.Posted at 8:05AM on Mar 11th 2010 by xMort
The game works fine, the server menu has some issues but us BF2 fans are used to that. If you can't get into a game, you should stick to a console.
Best Multiplayer PC game since BF2, in my opinion. It's one of those games that will cause divorce, job loss, bad grades and lack of sleep. It's worth the $50 for sure.Posted at 12:56PM on Mar 14th 2010 by Nyte
@ xMort
UK sales charts that probably only include physical copies sold. With the game being available on Steam and via download from EA.com, I'd bet a fair amount on the actual number being much, much higher. I personally know at least a server-full of players who bought and downloaded the game via Steam for the sake of convienience. No messing around with serial keys or anything, you download it, it works, no fuss. Well... it works until you get IN the game, after that it's anyone's guess at the moment.

I wouldn't say it's an excersise in futility, the game (when it works), works very well. It's made much easier to get in a game when you have friends already playing and while it's not the fastest to update the server list, give it a little patience and a very entertaining and well-rounded experience is available to all players. Granted there are some crash-to-desktop issues but the game is made on an engine that has never been run on the PC platform before (Frostbite 1.5 IIRC) and issues are only to be expected. I'm just glad it bears almost no similarity to the console versions. :)
@ everyone else
BC2 is (IMO) a great game and I'm confident once the patches arrive (which they inevitably will) that it will go from being a great game to an amazing game with stunning replayability and a very dedicated player base.Posted at 10:41AM on Mar 15th 2010 by Riddla

Waiting for the "F*** YOU ACTIVISION, DEDICATED SERVERS ROOL!" posts to come in...
though honestly, I'm not surprised...
best way to stick it to Activision is take back your copies of Modern Warfare 1 and 2, and buy this game for the PC, just to rub it in their faces how important dedicated servers really are.Posted at 12:20PM on Mar 7th 2010 by devilsei
