Portal 2 officially announced; arriving "this coming holiday season" [Update]
Today's reveal by Valve was preceded by the announcement that Game Informer's next print issue will have a cover story on Portal 2. So far there are no details on what the cover story will reveal about the game. We hope we will soon find out if Portal 2 will be a short game to play like the original or if Portal 2 will be a longer experience.
Update: Eurogamer reports that Valve has indeed confirmed Portal 2 for a PC release.

The only thing I fear is Portal 2 losing the charm from the first game. It was awesome because at first glance, Portal seemed like just a normal tech demo that was bundled in for the Orange Box. Then after a while you realize the game has a deep, engaging plot. I wonder if Valve is going to do a different kind of plot twist the second time around.Posted at 3:04PM on Mar 5th 2010 by that guy rom
Why hasn't anyone pointed this out? Don't you guys see that is the same exact wall in both images? The wall panel cracks are in the same spot, as is the black wall segment. One looks very clean and pristine and the other looks worn and covered.
I think this proves that time travel will be a big part of the game. That orange portal in that cover is looking into the future, and the blue is looking into the past! Thats why GLaDOS is hanging there destroyed, and in the other portal the center seems to be in new well kept condition. Posted at 5:26PM on Mar 5th 2010 by TechNick
ok, thats all fine and dandy, but where the heck is episode 3? or half life 3 for that matter. unless portal 2 is going to tie in to episode 3 as the first game hinted at, i wanna know wtf? its been about 5 years guys. when they released episode 1 they said they liked the idea of episodes because they could release them in quick succession and speed up the development process. wtf?
